John, my husband, and I booked a studio for 5 o'clock in the afternoon to record the sound track for The Bee Film. We had to pick up our daughter from Day Care and bring her with us. Naturally, at 4 years of age, it was difficult occupying her in a studio, especially at that hour of day. She was insistent on being in the sound room with us. We told her this would be fine, as long as she was as quiet as a mouse. She was very good, however, she kept singing along. After the third take, the studio technician inquired as to why we were insisting on her silence - he suggested we give her her own mic - so we did. Loyalist College entered this little film in the Canadian Film Festival competition in Ottawa. It received honorable mention for "Sound Track Originality" in 2002. Congratulations Roanna!! This film was hand-rendered on a traditional animation table, then imported into Flash using bitmap tracing. The background is a site painting . |
